Monica Rappaccini is a character appearing in Marvel's Avengers. She is an alternate version of AIM's Scientist Supreme from a timeline where the Kree invaded Earth.
Biography[]
Monica's background is presumably the same as her counterpart in the Avengers' universe, though from an unspecified time in the future. At some point, she lived through the Kree Empire invasion of Earth, which resulted in the alien species taking over the planet. After reactivating time travel experiments, Monica presumably came into contact with AIM from her personal past, presumably Dr. Lyle Getz and/or her past self. With their help, she was able to gain the assistance of Nick Fury, who transported to her timeline and helped fight off the remaining Kree. At some point, Monica began development of a Cosmic Energy containment unit, which was dubbed both "Project Omega" and later the Cosmic Cube. Intending to use it to defeat the Kree Empire, she ran out of time and decided to send it back to her past self to complete its development.

Contact with the Past[]
When her past self began experimenting with Getz's Time Bridge experiments, Monica contacted her and informed her of the invasion. In addition to working with her to develop AIM's resources, she also managed to persuade her to give her a captive Hawkeye, who had been captured while investigating the project. In return, Monica gave AIM some scientific experiments she and its future counterpart had worked on since the past, including the Super-Adaptoid. After Barton passed through, the doorway closed.
When the Avengers reopened the Time Bridge to retrieve Hawkeye, Monica was in the vicinity and sent some Synthoids to capture him. During the chase, she was distracted by the arrival of a Kree Sentry. Monica was ultimately unable to stop Hawkeye from escape, as he passed through the bridge before it was destroyed by Kate Bishop.
Final Battle[]
Monica uses the Cosmic Cube
After losing contact with her past counterpart, Monica continued work on the Cosmic Cube in her own timeline. Eventually moving to SHIELD Substation Ninety-Nine, she participated in the final battle between SHIELD and the Kree Empire. During the final moments of the battle, Monica used the cosmic cube to seal the conflict within a temporal field, ending the war and invasion. Though she succeeded, the damage done to Earth in the timeline was devastating, causing it to become barely inhabitable by both sides' actions. Both Hawkeye and his Kree Timeline counterpart would later find her and the battle sealed in the field whilst searching for Fury, who had also participated in the fight.

- In Taking AIM, Monica's hair is starting to gray. However, in Future Imperfect, this streak is missing.
