Located on the Eastern Seaboard, New York is located in the namesake state. One of the most populated cities in the country, it was used by the Avengers as their main place of operations, with them residing in Avengers Tower. Doctor Strange also resided in the area, operating out of the city's Sanctum Santorum in Greenwich Village. New York consisted of five bouroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. Jersey City was located on the opposite side of the Hudson River.
After A-Day, New York became one of AIM's major bases of operations, with them using Stark Industries assets to purchase Avengers Tower. As they reassembled and fought against the company, the Avengers visited the city to infiltrate AIM facilities within it. Some of the most notable included stopping an attempt to frame them for an attack and intercepting a Warship attacking Inhumans.
- Heavily based on the real world city of the same name, New York is one of the most visited places in Marvel Comics and adaptation of its properties. The city also serves as the primary area of operations for many superheroes, including Spider-Man, Daredevil, the Fantastic Four and Defenders. Teams like the Avengers and X-Men have also set up bases of operations within the city and the nearby area. Likewise, supervillains, such as the Kingpin and the Sinister Six, have used the city as their place of operations and used various places in the city as their hideouts.
